Punthill South Yarra Grand

I stayed at Punthill South Yarra over a weekend (Friday and Saturday nights) in Apartment 1105 and was genuinely impressed. From the moment I checked in, the experience was warm and easy. Cat at reception was incredibly friendly and personable, which set the tone for a great stay. The apartment has clearly been recently refreshed. It was modern, clean, and spacious, with a smart layout that made it feel more like a home than a hotel room. Great-sized living space, comfy bed, and practical features like a Nespresso machine, full-sized fridge, and plenty of storage. Perfect for a weekend or even a longer stay. The view from the room was an unexpected bonus—expansive views out over the suburbs with the city skyline in the distance. It faces the train line, so you do hear the trains from the living area, but once the bedroom door’s shut, it’s totally peaceful. I slept really well both nights. The furniture is fairly simple but all new and well-maintained nothing luxury or design-led, but functional and comfortable. That said, the overall space, natural light, and layout made up for it tenfold. One small downside is the 10am checkout, which feels a little early, especially on a Sunday. But for the location, space, and price point, it’s hard to fault. Just steps from Toorak Road, South Yarra station, and all the cafes and shops everything is at your doorstep. The lobby also has a cosy little fireplace, which adds a nice touch in the cooler months and makes the place feel warm and welcoming. I usually book 5-star, full-service hotels, but this stay definitely opened up the game for me. If you’re after more space, solid amenities, and great value without compromising on location, Punthill South Yarra is a brilliant option. I’d happily stay again.

I loved how clean it was and how many amenities where in the space. They utilised the space well it didn't feel cramped at all considering it was a studio. The lady who I didn't get the name of that was working the evening of both nights I was staying was fabulous and made feel so comfortable she was incredibly welcoming

The facility is very good with new beds and linen a good choice of pillows , the location is priceless with public transport ( trams or trains ) only 150m approx away… the local shopping is brilliant and there are more food outlets in the vicinity than we could attend , also there are grocery stores very close by

Location and comfort

The apartment is clean and staff is friendly. Washing machine, dryer and kitchen facilities are clean and able for us to do light cooking.
